Ryan and Olivia – Founders

Dogcity Daycare is the long-time dream of Ryan and Olivia, who while working full-time, left a broken hearted furry face at the gate everyday. After looking around for alternatives to a lonely day at home, they concluded it was high time Adelaide had it’s own dog daycare facility and set about the long road of opening the city’s first dedicated dog centre. Ryan and Olivia share their home with shepherds Bruce and Wicki whose ideas, testing and recommendations have helped shape the concept of Dogcity!

Maria – Senior Groomer

Bringing with her 30 years of skill and experience, Maria operates our grooming room with style! Originally from Sweden, Maria has also spent time in the UK and New Zealand and only arrived in Australia shortly before joining our team, bringing her husband John and Chesapeake Bay Retriever Tommo to our fair city. To add to her swag of talents, Maria is also a gifted painter and has studied cartography.

Louise – Senior Animal Attendant

Louise fits in Dogcity fun as she studies Veterinary Sciences at Uni and with her passion for animals and awesome dance moves, we’re hoping to some day get mates rates on our vet visits!  Louise has 2 dogs, a cat and a pony, who keep her busy when she’s not working and studying and even though she’s a busy girl, Dogcity-time keeps that smile on her face!

Meet Jonathan, or Jono as we like to call him, who squeezes in a bit of Dogcity fun in between Animal Sciences classes at Adelaide University. Also a superstar rugby player for the Burnside Under 20′s team, Jono is right at home for a scrum with the big dogs!

Jamie – Grooming Assistant

Smart-as-a-whip Scottish lass Jamie works alongside Maria and Laura in our grooming room and is continuing a great career in animal care by learning more at Dogcity. She completed her B.S.c Animal Care (Hons) degree at the University of Aberdeen and won the Agricultural Centenary Prize for her research on training and conditioning the canine athlete.. putting the rest of us to shame! Jamie has since worked as a dog grooming assistant, a pet store assistant as well as volunteering for RSPCA Darwin as a dog walking allocator! Although she and her partner have no pets at present, she sure gets her much-needed dog time at Dogcity!

Laura – Grooming Assistant

Laura has had great experience caring for animals in one of Adelaide’s biggest kennels and we’re really pleased to have all that knowledge to add to Dogcity’s offering. Laura is loving learning all she can about her new career as a dog groomer and is working alongside the best in Adelaide, Maria Ormond. We just love how motivated and energetic she is and that she never seems to stop smiling!

Vlad – Animal Attendant

Vlad is currently completing an intensive music studies course at Marryatville and is loving what he calls ‘rent a dog’ at Dogcity because he only has a boring old cat who hates that he comes home smelling like dogs! Vlad has a great interest in creative media technology and hopes to be helping us out with our image soon enough.

Stuart – Animal Attendant

Stuart drops in after school at nearby PAC to finish up the dog’s day with a game of ball.. hardly surprising when you consider he plays rugby for the Burnside team. Although he hasn’t convinced his folks to have his own dog at home just yet, Stuart loves all our furry mates and aims to be a vet one day.
